![]() ![]() So, I was watching once again the movie, and again I was thinking that I should read the original Canadian mangas (or are they comics? Whatever, dudes) and… I was watching it again last week (I have it in DVD and Bluray, and yes I am keeping both editions since the DVD has a magenta background in its cover, and the Bluray has a blue background in its cover, and if you know the most basic things about Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character) you well know that this is just wonderful and yes, I’d need a future format edition in a green background, dang it!). So bizarre, clever, exciting and funny! Am I dreaming? This movie was just right for me! My first contact with Scott Pilgrim’s world was through the movie adaptation, that I wouldn’t watch (at least not so soon as I did) if Mary Elizabeth Winstead (which I love) wouldn’t be in the cast.Īnd I would lost a lot! Since that movie rules! Um… am I dreaming? - I’ll leave you alone forever now. ![]() This is the first book (in a series of six) of “Scott Pilgrim” saga.Ĭreator, writer and illustrator: Bryan Lee O’Malley ![]() ![]() When lighted, it burns like charcoal, and retains the fire much better than wood inso- much that it may be preserved during the night, and in the morning be found still burning. ![]() Throughout this province there is found a sort of black stone, which they dig out of the mountains, where it runs in veins. ![]() With it, in short, every article may be procured. ![]() All his subjects receive it without hesitation, because wherever their business may call them, they can dispose of it again in the purchase of merchandise they may have occasion for such as pearls, jewels, gold, or silver. When thus coined in large quantities, this paper currency is circulated in every part of the grand khan’s dominions nor dares any person, at the peril of his life, refuse to accept it in payment. The coinage of this paper money is authenticated with as much form and ceremony as if it were actually of pure gold or silver for to each note a number of officers, specially appointed, not only subscribe their names, but affix their signets also and when this has been regularly done by the whole of them, the principal officer, deputed by his majesty, having dipped into vermilion the royal seal committed to his custody, stamps with it the piece of paper, so that the form of the seal tinged with the vermilion remains impressed upon it, by which it receives full authenticity as current money, and the act of counterfeiting it is punished as a capital offence. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Would you try another book from Gena Showalter and/or Savannah Richards? I've listened to the whole series now and have loved every one so, YES, a very creditworthy addition to the series. Worth a credit? This is a entertaining, light and enjoyable fantasy romance with a couple of sex scenes between two very likeable main characters. It's filled with great characters and GS's imagination at world-building is awesome and the Narrator did a good job coping with all the many different voices. There's also sub plots involving the Dragons, Vampires and Poseidon and a secondary romance. It's fun, fantastical and there's a lot of bantering, humor and angst between the H/H when Shaye doesn't want to instantly drop her panties and stay with the super sexy and gorgeous King so, for the first time, Valerian really has to work hard for it. The handsome Nymphs need sex all the time to keep their strength up but the Dragons have stolen their females so they are forced to steal some Human women and that's when the trouble starts for Valerian, King of the Nymphs when he locks eyes with his mate. There are alliances, hatred, friendships, wars, portals and lovers but overseeing it all is the mighty vengeful Poseidon. Dragons, Vampires and Nymphs and it's where a whole host of other weird and wonderful creatures live. This is book 3 in GS's Atlantis series where, in the mythical realm beneath the sea, there are three Kingdoms. A VERY ENJOYABLE FANTASY WORLD TO DWELL A WHILE IN ![]() ![]() Even the most romantic of men are not going to be perfect. I can’t be the only one who is seeing the perfect, loving and thoughtful husband routine as completely shady? Maybe it’s because I’m no stranger to shitty men who do a really good job of tricking you. ![]() Paris seems to have a habit of writing the most annoying female main characters – clueless, meek and insecure – who are married to the most obviously untrustworthy men. With that said, The Breakdown might be the end of me reading this author’s work.ī.A. You don’t want the things a reader remembers about your book to be just the illogical, annoying bits. Even now, when I think back on that reading experience the only things I remember are that 1) the main character was super annoying and 2) it’s totally ridiculous to believe that a high-powered attorney who works 60+ hour weeks on huge cases, would also have enough time to be that on the fucking nose when it came to keeping his wife hostage. ![]() I read and mostly enjoyed Behind Closed Doors, but I was not over the moon about it like most other reviewers were.
